Gavin's Preschool Graduation

It's official....we have a preschool graduate in the family :)  Gavin completed two years at Makakilo Baptist Preschool and will be off to Kindergarten at my current school (Mauka Lani Elementary) next year.  I can't say enough good things about his preschool...they really nurtured growth in all aspects of the children.  He has grown socially, academically, physically, and spiritually.  We will forever be grateful for the strong foundation that was laid for Gavin by the teachers and staff at Makakilo Baptist Preschool.

After the ceremony, everyone went back to the classrooms where the kids all handed out leis to their friends.

Time for ourselves

So far, this summer has been great!  We keep the weekends packed with activities for the kids and while they are at daycare during the week, Mark and I have made time together and some time with our friends as well.

Mark went fishing with the Campbell wrestling coaches...they caught 2 huge ahi tuna.  We had fresh ahi sashimi for days!

Monica, Katie, Tanya and I went down to the Hilton Hawaiian for a girls spa day.

Katie and I tried a stand-up paddle board class one morning at Ko Olina.
Mark and I hiked Koko Head.  The hike is straight up the mountain on train tracks.  Deemed "nature's stairmaster"

Views from the top were amazing!

Just a few pictures from my phone of the boys....

The Weidas watched our boys one night so Mark and I could go out. Monica said Gavin and Brooke spent about an hour practicing writing their names :)

Snack time and water play break

Mr. Dylan had to go on time out for going past the boundary Aunty set for them during water play...She said when she asked him to come back he looked at her and said, "NO" and kept going.  Needless to say it landed him in time out and he wasn't happy about that :)

Free ice cream from McDonalds for participating in the Kapolei Library summer reading program

G-man with his ice cream for being a great reader

Watch out....crazy drivers!

Someone was NOT happy to have his picture taken.

The boys love to pick flowers for me. I love how sweet it is when they run over with a new flower and are so excited to give it to me.  This was their masterpiece of flower picking one afternoon while playing outside.

Lovin some cupcake!  Notice Makenzie in the background also up to no good!

My Old Man

Mark turned 36 on May 31st... He is now officially closer to 40 than his 20's! (And I'm sure he won't appreciate me pointing that out on the blog :).  We celebrated his day with a kayaking adventure to a small island off the coast in Kaneohe Bay called  Chinaman's Hat.  It was an easy paddle out and we had the whole island to ourselves for a few hours....found a small beach to hang at for a while and hiked up the mountain there as far as we could in bathing suits and slippers.

We had lunch at Cholo's in Haleiwa and then headed back to "our side" of the island to get the kids from childcare and to prepare for Gavin's preschool graduation that was that evening! (another blog post :)

Adventure Awaits!

View from the back of the island. That little patch of sand was our beach for the day.

There's my old man :)

This is the island from the coast.  Looks like a big hat...hence the name... Chinaman's Hat

A few days later, we spend the day with friends at White Plains beach to celebrate Mark's birthday and Gavin's graduation (notice Gavin's shorts are coming off?)
