SuperBowl Party

This post is out of order- usually when I fall behind in blogging I at least post them in the order the events happened, but forgot about these pictures. We spent Superbowl Sunday at the Martin's house. It was the last get together at their house - it sold and they are moving out this weekend. They will be renting in KoOlina now. It was a rainy day, so perfect weather for a party that is mostly indoors. The kids all had a blast - playing in the playroom until half time when we took them out to jump on the neighbor's trampoline. The adults had fun too -Guys got to watch football and Ladies (except Monica and Melissa) got to chat and catch up -Monica and Melissa were focused on watching their Steelers in the game.

Claudia, if you are reading this- we planned on taking a picture of all the kids there in their shirts, but a few people forgot to bring theirs. If we never do get a picture of all the kids together in them, at least know that our intentions were always there ;)

East Side

Last weekend we spent the day on the East side of the island. We don't go over there often, but if we could afford it we would LOVE to live over there. The beaches are nice, the community has so much to offer and it is so close to Honolulu. For now, we will just have to settle for taking day trips over there. We packed up the car for Sea Life Park and the beach and met the Martins for a full day of fun.

About a mile down from Sea Life Park, we found our own secluded beach (part of Waimanalo Bay).

I pulled this off of Katie's blog - can't not tell the story behind it....When we were packing up to go to dinner, Katie and I took the girls (Abby and Makaela) down to the water to rinse the sand off. As I was bent down focusing on cleaning the sand off Makaela, I wave came in and knocked me over. So, after I was done cleaning the sand off Makaela, I had to do the same for myself!

Dinner was at the Kona Brewing Company which sits right on the Hawaii Kai Boat Harbor. It was quite a site - 4 adults and 5 kids.

While we were at the beach, the big kids (Abby, Makaela, and Gavin) had fun playing in the sand and racing down the beach.

End of a Successful Season

This past Saturday marked the end of the 2010-2011 wrestling season. The season was much shorter than usual this year due to budget cuts - usually the state tournament is in March. As usual, Mark and Brian gave the team their all and had another successful season. Campbell High School had their first female state champion and the team came in 5th place in the state this year. I remember when Mark first started coaching there, we went to the state tournament to watch....Campbell didn't have any kids qualify. In the ten years they have been a part of the program, Mark and Brain have done a great job with team.

Monica and I packed the kids and headed down for the afternoon to cheer on the kids and support the hubbies....it was quite a busy afternoon for us being outnumbered 4 to 2!

Monica and I agree that we are very happy they had a successful season, but equally (if not more) happy that the season is over and we have our husbands back.

Happy Valentines Day

This year, our Valentines Day was not filled with fancy dinners or expensive jewelry, but couldn't have been more perfect -mostly because we were able to spend time together. With the wrestling season ending earlier than ever before, Mark didn't have a tournament or even practice on Monday. We made the most of the time together and went out for a family dinner.

For breakfast Gavin had heart shaped pancakes and opened his Valentines Day gift - chocolate milk mix. Dylan also loved his gift- a teething, crinkle book to play with. Mark and I both were very creative with our gifts this year....he ordered me a novel that you add in your personal information so you are the main characters... at least I know I'll have reading material for our Costa Rica trip. This video was my gift to him...I tried to put pictures from all the important events in our lives...starting from the very first picture of the two of us taken together - way back in 1996!

Future Heart Throbs

There is just something too cute about the boys in matching PJ's and I couldn't pass up getting to use my new camera and as Mark says, "document for the blog" - so here they are.....Future Heart Throbs: Gavin and Dylan Buelow...

Dylan is starting to sit up on his own for a short time - he doesn't like to stay this way long. Usually he quickly gets to his belly so he can start moving around.

5 months later

It seems like only yesterday that Dylan was born - it is hard to believe that he is 5 months old already! This little guy is BUSY and has his hands into everything! He army crawls around to get anywhere he wants to go - I'll put him in the middle of a blanket on the living room floor, walk away for a minute and come back to find him on Marley's bed or on the tile floor chewing on my slipper! For as much as my two boys look alike, I think their personalities will be pretty different. I don't remember Gavin being so mobile this early, of course Gavin was probably sitting back analyzing everything so as soon as he could talk he would know all the words for everything ;) I still haven't got around to pulling out Dylan's 6 month size clothes, so I'm still squeezing him into his size 3 months. The other day I came across his "Little Brother" onesie and thought I better get one more picture of the two of them wearing their Big and Little Brother matching shirts.

The Race is On!

One of our new bath/bed time routines includes a race to the top of the stairs - Gavin usually wins, but as you can see from the video, Marley was playing on Dylan's team!
