Exercising

I tried to post this video back when I did the post on Dylan and it wouldn't upload....so here it goes again...

This little guy has been to many a wrestling practices and saw me doing yoga (on the event I actually find time to exercise these days). He carries a book around, puts it on the floor and says he is "exercising" - I assume the book is supposed to be a DVD player or computer?

Swashbuckling Pirates!

We went for the family theme this year for Halloween - a band of pirates. On the Saturday before Halloween we went to a party hosted by a co-worker (which was cut short because of the annual tsunami warning - it amounted to nothing). Luckily we had another shot at getting a group picture in our costumes on the actual night of Halloween because I didn't get a single picture picture of our family the night of the party.

On Halloween night, we had a potluck dinner party at Brian and Monica's and then took the kids out to trick-or-treat in their neighborhood (this has become our Halloween tradition)...thanks for hosting Monica!

Pumpkin Patch and Carving

We made our annual trip to Aloun Farms pumpkin patch back in October. This place is hot, dusty, crowded, and dirty but something I couldn't imagine not doing. It is the only piece of fall-like activity we seem to have (and fall is the only season I miss while living here).  This year, they added a sunflower field which would have made a great backdrop for pictures but the boys did not see a reason to smile with the sun beaming in their eyes :)

A look of sheer pleasure! :)

Picking out pumpkins was more appealing for the boys

This year, we "carved" the pumpkin using cookie cutters...made for a cute pattern and something different.

2 Year Stats.....2 Months later

They say that 2's are "terrible" but Dylan has left his badgering days behind now that he is two. He certainly is as physical as ever - getting hurt so often I worry there may be a secret CPS case being built against us. He has no fear...climbing, running, jumping, and falling with every step. But what he has developed are the most charming ways that make me melt. He says please and thank you for nearly everything he asks for, he shares openly with his brother and is constantly flashing a smile that could win him the world. He is so observant...repeating anything he hears (sometimes more legible than others) and we often see him mimic things we do (caught him doing push ups and downward dog one day as he "exercised"). And this little guy loves to dance! While watching TV, if a song comes on he will get up and shake it! Often at bedtime, we will put on music upstairs and the kids both like to get down :)

At his 2 year old checkup, he measured in at....
Height: 3'1"(37 inches) - growing 2.5 inches in 6 months
Weight: 27 lbs 6 oz - gaining 1 pound in 6 months

Currently some of his favorites...
Diego
Looking at books of Animals
Lollipops - they can work as a bribe for anything (except potty training which he shows no interest)
Imaginary play
Wooden puzzles
His bouncy house
doing "homework" - aka scribbling on any paper he can find :)

And finally, here are a few pictures of our little blonde hair and blue eyed boy.....
