The Kroc Center

We finally have a fitness center close to home - down in Kapolei.  We've only waited 9 years to have a gym nearby without having to drive to Pearl City to go and work out!  The bonus is that the Kroc Center is more than a gym...it's a community center with an Olympic sized pool, water slides, kids' splash pad, gymnasium, game room, preschool, drop-in childcare and a church.  We decided to join back in March and have made great use of our memberships!

Mark and I use the gym often...I've found some fitness classes I LOVE.  On the weekends, we take turns working out and playing with the kids in the pools.  During the week, we try to take the kids there once or twice to swim also.    Since we've joined Gavin has learned to swim and passed the swim test there to be able to play in the Olympic sized pool and go off the diving boards and Dylan has become "over-confident" in the water also.  He loves wearing goggles and jumping in to "swim" underwater.

We also enrolled Gavin in a few of their week-long summer camps for enrichment.  He went to a one-week "Discover's Camp" where he learned about map and compass skills and went on a few field trips.  He also attended a week-long swim camp there.

AND the HIGH DIVE!  The first day he climbed up there, he turned around and came back down...

but the next day, we went right up there and jumped!  Then he jumped again, again, and again!
