Saying Aloha to Aunty

Dylan started going to Aunty Sophia's house back in March of 2011 when he was 6 months old and our family has LOVED her ever since. She is an amazing child care provider and we feel so blessed that our paths crossed.  She has structure in her day, devoting time for nursery rhymes, read alouds, songs, and crafts but had plenty of time for the kids to just be kids. More importantly, she loves Dylan  and he loves her! Watching your kids grow is both a rewarding and sad part of parenting. On one hand, it feels great to see them grow more and more independent- to see the pride they have as they become "big boys" but on the other hand, it is a constant reminder of how quickly they grow.  They will be grown in a blink of an eye and all these milestones are reminders! May, 2014 was a milestone in Dylan's life...it was his last month at Aunty Sophia's marking the end of his infant and toddler stage and the beginning of his preschool days.  In August, Dylan will become a "SuperStar" at Manoa Valley Church Preschool!

Here's the pictures Aunty sent me (along with the captions she sent with them) of Dylan during his last few months with her.
"Your son sat on my lap for a little while this morning and told me about his boo-boo. Then he said, "Aunty, I'm all done sitting on your lap now." He then jumped off my lap and starts loading up his shopping cart with toys! He cracks me up! Love him!"

"Looks like someone's doing a victory dance after the race! I'm sure gonna miss him!" April 30, 2014

" Dylan just told me he took my picture and is sending to Uncle Rudy on his texting phone! Too cute!" May 15, 2014

"Your little guy was so excited to show me the map he drew!! He spent the morning pointing out and explaining things on his map! Showed me where my house is and how he and Dad drove here in Dad's car from your house. I'm so going to miss him! Love our little conversations!" May 15, 2014

"Dylan showing off what he made! He said the zookeeper took the horse out in the truck to eat his hay. So creative? He made a zoo too, but it kept falling apart. Such imagination! I'm really going to miss these conversations!!" May 21, 2014

Sophia's sister often came by to visit the kids. On Dylan's last day, she made them cupcakes to celebrate his "graduation."
