Mark and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary on January 5. He found a new restaurant to try- Morimoto's Sushi and I bought tickets to see the Broadway show Wicked that was playing in Honolulu. The restaurant was a really neat experience. It is a tiny place that books months in advance because it only seats 20 people for the entire restaurant. They have two seatings per night and serve up some great sushi at awesome prices. The restaurant is BYOB, which we found out once we got there, so we did what all classy people do - ran to the nearest 7-11 and bought a bottle of wine :)
Wicked was SO GOOD! It is the Wizard of Oz told from the wicked witch's point of view...the teacher in me kept thinking how great this is to teach kids about voice!
After 11 years of marriage, two little boys, a dog, and busy careers it sometimes seems hard to find those moments to spend time together. Of course, life would seem so incomplete if all of these pieces weren't a part of our lives, so we make the most of the time we do have to spend as a couple. It is all about achieving balance!
